Hierarchy & Classification

Short Description:
  By utilizing arthropods (mainly insects) caught in pitfall traps, students sort and group specimens according to the hierarchical classification scheme. Students will conduct a complete scientific investigations including making predictions, collecting data, and sharing results. NOTE: This program can be done twice (once in the fall and once in the spring) to compare different species numbers found during each season with a discounted price for the second program.
